It was what seems like a lifetime ago when I first met this beautiful mom to be, she was a teen (as was I 🙂 coming into her own and finding herself (as was I). She was, and still is, artistic, funny and so kindhearted. Over fifteen a few years and the loves of our lives later, it was my pleasure to travel to Huntsville Ontario to document her second pregnancy. Life’s journey changes us with every high and low we face so I believe in the importance of having people in your life who knew you when you were young and innocent (ish) as a reminder of how far you have come.
Personally, I think one of the most surprising things about parenthood is how it really solidifies who we are and the importance we put on many things. We think we kn0w ourselves before we become parents, however, the saying “everything changes when you become a parent” couldn’t be more accurate. We look back and laugh (and/or cry) at our former selves and priorities as our new love and life moves us forward with grace and confidence. It’s so heartwarming to see friends from the past who have maintained all their wonderful qualities and are surrounded by so much love. I only hope that in years to come our kids will get to experience the freedom of expression with their crazy, unique and ballsy friends that we once shared.
