The Photographer

Tamsin Lambert

Tamsin is the photographer behind The Eye’s the limit. Wifey to a hard working, movie loving man and big Momma to two adventurous boys. Tamsin has a fun loving and witty personality that she brings to every session and her clients always remark at how great she is with their children. A few of Tamsin’s past careers have been centred around children and include working with youth with special needs. Over the years she has developed a great at read on personalities both young and old, and has the ability to put the most camera shy folks at ease. She is also a freelance graphic designer who creates logos, websites & commercial photography for local business around Cambridge, Kitchener & Waterloo Ontario.

The outdoors and music are Tamsin main sources of inspiration and summer is when Tamsin shines brightest. Her and her family can be found swimming in their backyard or camping all over the province.  Tamsin is an avid concert go’er and has seen many envy evoking bands. She also has been know to “slap-a-da-bass” and has been the cutest member of the rhythm section in a few bands in her past.

What Tamsin loves best about being a Photographer is that it’s a constant learning profession, and it allows her to connect with people on a visual and personal level. She works with her clients to evoke gorgeous expressions and strives to create images that will resonate with them for a lifetime.

THE PROCESS

From Start to Finish

Reach out and don’t hesitate to ask Tamsin lots of questions about her process. Communication is key during the whole process of working with a professional photographer and Tamsin wants to make sure that every details is address to ensure her clients are truly satisfied from start to finish.
We work together to find a date and time that works best and offers the best quality lighting mixed with the opportune time to photograph your family. Tamsin tries to book sessions in the early morning or mid to late evenings depending on the type of session, however she is flexible and works with all schedules. To confirm booking clients must pay the minimum order requirement retainer. Once this is paid your session will officially be added the schedule.
Location & Wardrobe are key to ensuring your images resonate with you and remain timeless. Tamsin suggests locations that are special to your family so that your images evoke a reflection of many great memories. Wardrobe should remain simple, avoiding busy patterns that may date themselves and have a colour scheme/flow without being too matchy. She encourages you to have some fun with your wardrobe and if you’re in need of inspiration to check out her Pinterest Page  for ideas.
Who would have though hiring a profession photographer would come with homework? However, Tamsin asks her clients to really think about two things in the lead up to their session
A: What are your “must have” shots?
and
B: What do you want to do with your imagery?

A lot of time clients just know it’s time to update their portraits but don’t have a plan. Think about where you want your images to hang, what size and even if you prefer colour or black & white.

At this point Tamsin has a pretty good idea of what her clients hope for from their session. As a client you will be prepared because you asked the right questions, you arrive, and we have some fun. It’s really important that everyone stay light and joyful in the lead up to the session so planing out everything the days before is key to ensure a smoother “getting ready experience”. Tamsin keeps her photography sessions pretty casual and keeps the flow pretty quick for little ones who just don’t want to sit still. As a photographer Tamsin is really intuitive and works towards ensuring everyone is feeling relaxed and comfortable so that the images reflect the true personalities of her subjects.
After waiting with great anticipation (usually 10 business days) your proofing gallery will be ready to view. We book a time to sit down over tea at my home studio (or your home depending on scheduling) and view your images and decide on the final products you want to order. Tamsin does basic edits to these images and will fully edit a few choice photographs to give clients an idea of the finished product they can expect.
Tamsin’s pricing is a la carte with a few collections however, she will work with clients to create customized collections depending on their product needs.
About 2-4 weeks after a clients ordering appointment their products will arrive ready for pickup or delivery (additional charge applies). If they need help with hanging their wall art Tamsin is more than happy to lend a hand.  It’s imperative to her that the products clients order get up on their walls as soon as they get them so they can start enjoying them immediately. All products come with special care instructions to ensure longevity. All that’s left for clients to do is smiles daily as they walk by their reminders of what makes life so special.
