The back story of this beautiful session is simple. My husbands cousin is in Canada from Holland, and I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to photograph such a beautiful young lady, so we went for a walk on the trails near my home studio just outside of Cambridge, ON.
Our session was fun and simple and we talked and walked and stopped at some of my favourite spots along the trails that I often travel with my son and clients respectfully. The results were stunning portraits of a stunning young woman who is about to enter her last year of High School.
However, without realizing it until after the fact, this photo session share is a perfect opportunity to talk about Senior Portrait Photography.
Traditionally Senior portraits are captured in a school gym with a cap and gown and standard backdrop and are the last time you pay for school portraits for many years to come…if ever again. There is a huge trend in the US, that I am hoping with catch on in Ontario, to take this images to another level by incorporating fun locations, wardrobe changes and even props that will fully capture the personality of your teen on the cusp of adulthood.
I encourage anyone with a child that is in their last year of high school, about to graduate and leave the nest, to get on Pinterest and really research Senior Portrait Photography to get an idea of an alternative option to capture your young adults true personality in what could be their last portraits taken before their wedding 🙂
