This month’s 10 on 10 features spring at it’s finest…
Can I just start by saying that every spring I wish I had an on-call little girl who I could dress up in super cute outfits and drive to beautiful areas with blooming trees and create gorgeous artwork of. Not to say that little boys and cherry blossoms don’t mix, but the effect just isn’t the same when you dress them up in pink flowing tutu’s, ya know?
So this year I decided a happy medium would be to take my boys dress them up somewhat sharp and photograph them at my favourite apple orchard in Brantford. Brantwood farms is a family run business that offers many fresh produces and baked goods all year long, but my favourite time to visit is during the harvest season where you can pick your own apples and pumpkins and enjoy the fun actives that the farm offers. I called ahead and got permission to photograph my boys on their property this time of year and they did warn me about bees so we choose to go later in the evening to avoid disrupting any production…and stings. The white apple blossom are a perfect spring backdrop for gorgeous images of kids and family alike.
Anyway, all I wanted was one image of the boys together, and all they wanted was to play in the dirt, wrestle each other and/or run away from me…back to the dirt. Here is the best of the best of having boys…Don’t forget to follow along the 10 on 10 blog chain and see what the other ladies have been up too starting with an awesome photographer Robyn Russell who photographs families, children and head shots in the Burlington, Ontario area.
Babies are gross. My oldest never did this but this guy can’t keep the dirt out of his mouth.
