Christmas winds down and the bitter cold of January and February seem to bring The Eye’s the Limit to a stand still. Sure there’s the odd newborn session here and there (all now being photographed under In Dreams Photography) but I find the need for photography, or the amount of winter loving folks are sparse so I take this time to get my administrative duties done as we all prepare for tax time.  It’s also a great opportunity to get caught up on blogs that remind everyone of the fun and warmth summer brings, however with my boys getting chicken pox I haven’t really had time to sit down and get a few organized. It’s always good to set new goals so I will add that to my laundry list 🙂

Speaking of chicken pox…
Edison just had his first birthday this past Sunday. I had a big winter party planned featuring fun activities like skating on the lake, snowmobiling, painting the snow, pin the nose on the snowman and a great menu of winter comfort foods. I spent hours Friday night shopping and making decorations only to wake Saturday morning to a fevered Edison who was covered in chicken pox…again! Both he and his brother just had chicken pox 3 weeks previous, but I guess Edison’s case was so mild that he was reinfected. I can’t express the disappointment that sunk in my heart. Not that the party was cancelled but that HIS party was cancelled. The boy who can’t seem to catch a break. Who’s gone through more in his first year then most in their lifetime, and he’s not done yet. I made jokes about the unfortunate outcome attempting to laugh it off but I really can’t shake the worry in my heart that things like this are going to keep on happening to him. I do believe some of us live a charmed life and others struggle to catch a break. I also believe life is what you make of it and you need to create your own fortune, so the best I can do for him is to continue with a positive outlook and remind him that there is many worst off in life and hope he keeps smiling.

Speaking of smiling….

This month my 10 on 10 features some shots of my sweet boys in studio. This day was the first day since Edison’s second chickenpox outbreak that he actually seemed himself. I am glad to see my boys back to normal(ish). I am trying my best to embrace the pox and document him as he is at every stage…horrible spots and all.
