As we know, Father’s Day is around the corner so for June’s 10 on 10 I wanted to feature the man who I owe a great amount of credit to because without his support I wouldn’t be the photographer or mother I am today.

In theory busting out the big camera and taking some pictures of him with the boys to celebrate father’s day was a great idea but I happen to be married to someone who hates getting his picture taken. I bet you didn’t know that based on all the great images I do post of him.

I did mention to him days earlier that I wanted to feature him and the boys in my 10 on 10 post this month so he was sufficiently warned but it happened that I had a family portrait session at Riverside Park in Cambridge so I left him to play with the boys while I worked and then snuck up on them with my camera to find this….
Cambridge Family PhotographerWhat a good dad right! I don’t see many dads at the park with kids in tow changing poopy diapers. P.S. sorry if you eat off of these tables I am sure there’s a change pad under there.

So since I had my gear out and I was already snapping away, the big man complied and the following is a look at the fun my guys have with each other.

I will tell you all that I get comments (99% from ladies) every time we’re out with friends or in large groups of people/parents about how great my husband is as a father. We have even had a car drive by us turn around and slow down beside us to say how wonderful it is to see a man wearing (in a backpack) his children. I am so surprised by these comments and they remind me of how far we have to go as a society in eliminating the stereotypical gender roles when it comes to parenting. I am so thankful that I have married a man who understands the partnership that has to occur to raise children and is a great example of what a man should be. As much as I want my boys to be young forever, I truly can’t wait to see the fathers they will become with this man as an awesome example of what a dad is.
